Summary:
To assist in overall center responsibilities such as:
assisting Center Supervisor and staff in carrying out daily center activities, outing, field trips and special events.
Also assist in transporting students and parents to and from Head Start Centers and field trips.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
1.
Promote a comprehensive pre-school early childhood program for Head Start children, families, and extended families, which include Family Service, Parent Involvement, Health, Nutrition, Education, Transition, and Disabilities and Mental Health.
2.
Assists with clerical work and cleans up with staff supervision (listed below) 3.
Assist in the implementation of daily lesson plans.
4.
Assist in setting up and organizing the classroom.
5.
Provide and assist in maintaining and developing a safe and healthy learning environment for all children, including children with disabilities.
6.
Maintain confidentiality at all times.
7.
Encourage parent participation in the classroom in special activities, in active learning and socialization.
8.
Assist with lunchroom or kitchen duties for breakfast, lunch, and snacks, as assigned and required.
9.
Assist with bus duties as assigned and required.
10.
Assist with field trips.
11.
Assist children with family style serving.
12.
Assist with classroom clean-up, including bathroom.
13.
Perform other duties as directed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AS CUSTODIAN:
1.
Sweep and mop center floors.
2.
Vacuum carpets.
3.
Clean classroom and bathrooms daily.
4.
Empty garbage and trash cans daily.
5.
Keep yard and playground areas free from litter.
6.
Maintain a neat and orderly supply closet/cabinet.
7.
Inform Center Coordinator of custodial supply needs.
8.
Dust, wash windows, blinds and walls periodically (once every month).
9.
Preform playground safety check using Bright from the Start (BFTS) checklist.
Qualifications:
1.
Able to work with young children.
2.
Friendly and with warm personality.
3.
Must be able to relate easily to people.
4.
Emotionally mature and Ability to follow directions.
5.
Available to work flex hours from 8:
00 am - 4:
00 pm.
Not to exceed four hours per day 6.
Ability to operate office machines (copier, binder, laminator, etc.
).
7.
Display positive attitude.
8.
Able to care and understand young children and children with special needs.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
